About the Author: Robert Lyman

I was born in New Zealand and educated at Scotch College, Melbourne, Australia. Commissioned into the Light Infantry from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, England in April 1982, I was an officer in the British Army for twenty years.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.

I have degrees from the universities of York, Wales (Aberystwyth), London (King's) and Cranfield). I am a graduate of the Joint Services Command and Staff College.

I am also Chairman of the Kohima Educational Trust.
