Nine-year-old Danny lives in a farm cottage with his parents, where his father works. He is devastated when his mother leaves for another man. On the day that she leaves, he meets Emma, a girl at his school, and falls madly in love. His life is shattered again, when Emma has to go with her parents to live in America. As they grow older, they never forget each other. Although they are apart, and loose touch, their love for each other grows stronger. Then fate brings them together again, only to cruelly almost tear them apart for good. However, fate did not take into account the strength of their love for each other. ------------ As they walked towards the church, Emma kept looking at Danny. "When I grow up I want to be a nurse," she said. "I would be able to look after you then, if you hurt yourself on the farm." ------------ "No mum, No! We can't move, not now." She shouted. "I like it here, where do you want to move to." "I just told you Emma, your father has being transferred to America. We will be going there to live." ------------ "I can't leave Danny mum; I want to stay with him." "Don't be silly Emma, you are only nine. You will soon forget about him and make new friends in New York; you will love it when you get there. ------------ "Oh, let's do it Danny, let's get married in the church before I have to go." Danny looked sad again. "We can't," he said. "We are not old enough; the vicar would not do it." "We could do it ourselves," Emma said.
